Notice 15-A | Sept 2, 2015 Audience This notice is sent as a benefit of your Sage Business Care plan and applies to all Sage 50 U.S. Edition customers, business partners, consultants and SAN members. Note: If you are not the person who administers Sage 50 U.S. Edition, please forward this notice to the correct person in your company. Additional Installation Information Obsolescence The obsolescence message you received when launching the product update was designed to give you advance notice that you will need to upgrade your software by November 30th. You can postpone the installation to a later date that falls before November 30th. To postpone the upgrade, click the X in the upper right-hand corner when the message is received to cancel the installation until you are ready to upgrade. This message will pop up again prior to November 30. If you have chosen to install now, but the window closes when you select Install and the install does not automatically start , this is an indication that you have not yet received the 2016 installation files. There are three options detailed below: 1. You can wait until you receive the pop-up note upon closing the program that notifies that the update is available. 2. You can download the files from the Sage knowledgebase and install the update now. The installation instructions and download can be found in KB article 64650. 3. You can download the files from your program if you are currently on 2015.2 or 2015.3. (Help>About>Version 2015, Build 22.2 or Build 22.3) To do this, from your application, choose Services>Check for Updates>Check Now>Select Sage 50 US R2016 Upgrade>Download Important Notes: You must have your serial number available. For more information and steps to retrieve your serial number, please see article 14995. You must install on a supported Operating System. if you install on an unsupported Operating System, the product may not work as expected. Review article 62337 for information on the supported Operating Systems. Make sure you do not proceed with installation if you are using Windows Server 2003 or Windows Windows XP. Network Installation An issue has been identified with the installation of Sage 50 U.S. Edition version 2016 if you are on a network or server/workstation environment. In some cases, the install will complete successfully on the server or host computer and the workstation installation instructions do not open automatically. These instructions can be opened manually by double clicking the Sage 50 - Network Installation Manager Instructions.htm icon on the desktop of your server or host computer. If the workstation installation instructions are not followed, you may lose your activation information. To prevent this issue, review article 37500 and follow the steps in article64650 for a successful server and workstation installation.
