Our major problems with ALL sage upgrades is, are they upgrading the database or using the same data file from 16.0 to 16.1? And will the upgrade force a backup or should I do one myself? It is annoying for our customers to be down for an extra 30 minutes when I perform due diligence by taking a backup, only to have the upgrade force another backup. I called sage support and found that: this update does do a data conversion, and the installation wizard does do a backup. So there's no need to do a backup before starting the installation. Our database is 20 GB and it takes about 50 minutes to upgrade the server.
