Hi Gordon, You can backup to any location through File, Backup. However when restoring through File, Restore it will only allow you to restore to the data path created when you installed the program. There are database files within the datapath that the program needs in order to function correctly. If you are meaning to use Dropbox only as storage, storing our backup files there should be no problem. However if you are intending to have people read and use the files out of the Company folder, I would again urge caution in making this decision. We have seen mutliple cases where this causes files to split causing data corruption. If you are looking for a cloud solution to host your data, I would recommend looking to some of our partners for hosted solutions at na.sage.com/.../hosting-providers . The ~pvsw~.loc file is just a locator file. This file will not prevent use of the data on other computers.
