Since you can't read your current data with the new program, if you have to look at history you must keep the your current program and datapath intact. So install the new program into a different location and datapath. Make a New company and tell it to leave the Chart of accounts empty. You can export data out of one company and import into the new company. In this way you will have to close out of the current program and open the old program to see history, then close the old program and open the new program to see current data because you can't have 2 version of Sage open at the same time. In Sage to to Help, Help again, Index on Import and start reading. There is a specific order to bring in the data.
