Forum Post: RE: Errors after Sage 2016 Upgrade
I get the same error code every time I attempt to access a payment; even when I am directly logged onto the MS Server 2012, and I know for a fact I'm pointed at the right data because one of the sage...

You definitely have data corruption that most likely happened when you closed the year. You can't go forward with the file like this. You have a few options. Option 1. restore a backup to a NEW COMPANY...

A professional would have to adjust that for you. Please email us for a link to our drop box. We will be happy to send you a quote on the repair.

You may wish to restore your back up before the year end close and rerun the close on your server.

The first thing I would try is to delete the Eventlog.dat, Audit trail.dat, alarm.dat,Alert.dat, in the datapath of the company that will not close. Sage will prompt to recreate these files empty when...

You have something in your file that does not belong there. It must be deleted or moved to get your file to close. We can remote in and identify the issue. There would be a fee for this service.

I would try Kim's Clement suggestion first. If that fails: Are you receiving any error messages? Is the dataset large? Are you giving it enough time to work and respond? Larger dataset take longer to...

I've been thinking maybe Sage having to talk between two different networks might be causing a problem? Yes I do agree with you on that.

You need to know what service release you were using. Using Windows Explorer, go to the data path of the company. For example that may be c:\Peachtree\company\ABC. Open the folder ABC and open up...

For example, office expense has 4 departments for gl account 7000. Dept 1 is 7000-1, Dept 2 is 7000-2, Dept 3 is 7000-3, etc. To consolidate 7000-1-7000-4 into 1 account, you will need to set up an...

You do not need to layout each main account in detail if all the accounts ids within a particular grouping are consistent. Here is a quick video I prepared using the sample company. Their gl acct id...

We tried deleting the eventlog.dat, trail.dat, alarm.dat, alert.dat in the datapath of the company that was not closing without any luck. And we compare the files as you mentioned and deleted files...

I think the company data has been corrupted. It is unlikely you will be able to close the company until you repair the damage. Closing a year on a corrupted file will make matters worse. You will find...

Thanks Kim, you were right on with finding the version. We were finally able to work through our problems and we don't have to reload the software after all.

The other odd thing about this issue is, as far as I know, when one user gets the error and is kicked out of Sage, other users who are also in Sage do NOT get any errors or get kicked out.

Yes, that does happen to me also. However every couple of times the database on the server freezes and no one can connect.
View ArticleForum Post: RE: Errors after Sage 2016 Upgrade
I haven't had a database freeze reported yet by my users. Have you tried Sage's suggestion of uninstalling and reinstalling Pervasive? I have not tried this yet because Pervasive's stress test tool...
